Editor’s Note

Just because Melbourne Music Week is over, doesn’t mean Melbourne’s live music scene is slowing down – they call New York the city that never sleeps but I think we do a pretty good job of keeping things going. Take King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard for example, you’d think four albums in one year would slow them down. Instead they’ve been taking their own festival Gizzfest around the country and we sat down with Stu Mackenzie to hear all about it ahead of its Melbourne leg.

But that’s not all – we’re celebrating women in electronic music because hell yeah! Girls to the front! We’ve also got chats with Foster The People, Pnau and Prince’s backing band New Power Generation to remind us that festival season is well and truly here and to top it all off my ultimate favourite album American Idiot (the album that made 12-year-old Gloria fall in love with music and think she could take over the world) is coming live on stage to Melbourne.

I say it every week, but damn it’s good to live in this city.

PS – Harry Styles if you’re reading this have a great day!
