Editor’s Note

It’s that time of year again, when Melbourne is transformed into a bustling music mecca, consumed by killer shows, major events, fascinating exhibitions, and more. Melbourne Music Week is nine days of pure bliss. This year’s event reaches far and wide, and to take things up a notch they’ve snagged themselves their most prestigious Hub to date – St Paul’s Cathedral. You know you wanna party in there. As far as planning goes, you’ve still got a few days to figure out a way to be in ten places at once. Miscellanea will take over the Town Hall, featuring some of our best artists, labels and party planners. We hung out with some of the artists on the Town Hall roof before chatting to their label heads. You’ve also got Julianna Barwick bringing her ethereal looping to the Cathedral, Ariel Pink taking over the Recital Centre and Zoo bringing together Briggs, Fatima & Alexander Nut and a heap more at Section 8 & Ferdydurke.

That’s just the beginning, check out our guide for even more hot tips. The same sex marriage survey results are out and at the time of writing this I’m pretty damn hopeful that my fellow Aussies have come through with the goods and I’m going to be receiving a load more wedding invites real soon.

It’s a beautiful time to live in this beautiful city.
