Lost And Lonesome are excited to warm up this winter and celebrate with a stacked line-up of Victorian talent. The Melbourne-based independent record label celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and considering label boss Mark Monnone’s history with Port Fairy, this Saturday afternoon showcase makes perfect sense. Throughout the nineties and noughties Mark played bass guitar in The Lucksmiths who made regular appearances at the Port Fairy Folk Festival so the town holds a special place in Mark’s musical heart.
Aside from The Lucksmiths and present-day offshoots Last Leaves and Monnone Alone, Lost And Lonesome has also been home to some of Australia’s brightest underground indiepop stars across the past couple of decades – from Perth’s Bank Holidays to Brisbane’s Zebras and back to Melbourne (via Port Fairy!) with The Smallgoods, the label has released 130 titles, even working with choice international acts including US bands Deerhoof, Sonny & The Sunsets and The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, and UK indie legends The Wedding Present. Featured in this event is the cracking line up of Mid-State Orange, Last Leaves, Smallgoods duo, Great Earthquake, Anthony Atkinson, Hot Coppers and Cheeses.
