The tour de force opened with Welcome Back, O’ Sleeping Dreamer from their 2022 album Pain Remains. They immediately captivated the audience. The stage production was a spectacle in itself, featuring synchronized pyrotechnics and a dynamic light show that complemented the band’s intricate compositions.
Drummer Austin Archey’s aggression alongside the technical lead guitar work from Adam de Micco provided a formidable backdrop to Will Ramos’s versatile vocal delivery.
The setlist spanned the band’s evolution, with highlights including the visceral To The Hellfire, their most popular song, and the Pain Remains Trilogy, leaving some in the crowd crying and emotional. Each track, combining dark orchestral elements with heavy brutality were executed with mastery.
Australian band To The Grave opened the evening with relentless energy, showcasing tracks from their extensive discography.
These included their latest single Forced Diet Reassignment, Vegan Day of Violence, DxE Or Die and Wastage about animals being killed on farms. Singer Dane Evans, in a pig mask, reminded us to “fuck each other up”. Their performance set a high bar, engaging the crowd from the beginning.
USA’s Bodysnatcher delivered a set characterized by intense breakdowns and raw aggression, leaving the crowd headbanging and breathless from E.D.A. to the closing beats of King Of The Rats.
Machine gun drums bounced off the riffs of Behind The Crowd and Murder8. They further amplified the night’s intensity, preparing the audience for the headliners. Let’s hope they return soon.
