Could the return of retro games be on the horizon?
Time for a throwback: It appears Nintendo is reviving its classic SNES controller for the Switch console.
The news was first discovered on gaming forum Resetera, when a user noticed Nintendo filed a patent with the US Federal Communications Commission for a new wireless gamepad which looks awfully like the one from the ’90s. Not much information has been revealed about the little controller in the FCC filing, but the patent does reveal that it will have Bluetooth support for the Switch.
Nintendo revived the vintage NES controller for the Switch last year in addition to a subscription service to a bunch of retro games, so it sounds like something similar could be happening for the SNES.
