Ruby Street Band take the resident stage at Goldy's Tavern this Sunday, 13 September, for another live set.
Collingwood pub Goldy’s tavern now runs live music every single Sunday, 2pm to 5pm, mixing established and emerging Victorian artists across a full year of free, all-ages gigs.
Ruby Street Band hold down the resident slot on the second Sunday of every month, giving regulars a familiar face to look forward to while the rest of the lineup rotates through fresh names each week.
On the last Sunday of the month, the mic gets handed over entirely for Goldy’s Community Open Mic, hosted by local musician Tim Woodz.
It’s a relaxed, come-as-you-are afternoon where beginners and seasoned players share the same stage, with the next one landing on 27 September; a fitting fit for a pub that’s built its whole identity around being a home everyone comes home to.
Between the open mic, the resident band and a rotating weekly bill, Goldy’s Tavern has quietly built one of the busiest live music calendars of any neighbourhood pub in Melbourne’s inner north.

The weekly program sits alongside Goldy’s Tavern’s monthly Discovery Sessions, run with Hear Hear Group on the first Sunday of the month, which puts two emerging Victorian artists on the bill in an intimate, early-afternoon setting.
But whichever Sunday you turn up, the feel is the same; Goldy’s has always been a community pub first, not a dedicated music venue, and the whole program is built around that. It’s been the idea behind the place since it opened in 2019: a home everyone comes home to, where the open mic crowd, the Ruby Street Band regulars and whoever’s just in for a quiet pint all end up sharing the same room.
Across all of it, the venue pays every artist at industry rates plus superannuation and runs a proper soundcheck through its own PA, treating each Sunday slot as a real booking rather than a favour.
It all adds up to a pretty solid excuse to spend your Sunday in Collingwood, with $12 Bloody Marys and a Sunday roast on offer from early afternoon, live music running straight through to 5pm, and DJ sets taking over Friday and Saturday nights for anyone keen to keep the weekend going.
