Now let’s get to the artists – you know, the people on the T-shirts? Originating in Canberra, four-piece post-punk alt band Dogworld is killing it in the Melbourne music scene.
Their recently released EP RANGE masters the art of merging soft and hard sounds that melt into your eardrums. The band has already made a name for themselves, supporting King Stingray, Teen Jesus and The Jean Teasers, Alex Lahey and even more Aussie icons.
Even though Melbourne Fashion Week is over, Hydra Fashion Week is just beginning. The cyber jazz group is making waves in the music scene with Abby Butler (triple j) calling them “one of the most exciting live acts in the Melb live scene” – and that is no exaggeration.
Their latest album Serpent Season One takes you on a journey, leaving you to question why you have never listened to them before. Their mix of live acoustics and drum beats creates a fusion of jazz and hyperpop you didn’t know you needed to hear. Equally as hypnotic is the lyricism brought to life by frontman Charlie Teitelbaum.
New group Public figures are as fresh onto the scene as you can get. Having their debut performance on 6 November, the duo is ready to slam you with the hardest power punk anthems you could ask for. The duo is made up of Evie Vlah and Gene Argiro who are ready to share their passion project with the world.
