The globally acclaimed Ministry of Crab is making a triumphant return to Melbourne, gracing Crown Melbourne with a tantalising month-long pop-up from 28th March to 27th April 2024.

Following a resoundingly successful pop-up in 2022, Ministry of Crab is back with a fresh and exotic menu that pays homage to Australia’s finest mud crab. Nestled in the iconic Evergreen dining space at Crown Towers, this culinary celebration promises an unforgettable dining experience.

At the helm of Ministry of Crab is culinary virtuoso and chef Dharshan Munidasa, renowned for his unwavering dedication to sourcing the freshest seafood and redefining the art of crab and prawn preparation. With Japanese and Sri Lankan heritage, Munidasa’s culinary prowess has earned him a spot in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list five times.

Throughout its month-long stint in Melbourne, Ministry of Crab will showcase a sumptuous five-course set menu spotlighting sustainably sourced Northern Australian Mud Crab, flown in live for the occasion. Indulge in signature dishes like the Pepper Crab and Garlic Chilli Crab, alongside Mooloolaba King Prawns, Crab Avocado Salad, and a delectable Coconut Crème Brûlée.

Bringing the Ministry of Crab experience to Melbourne is H&J Restaurants, helmed by Harsha Kumarasingha and Jayantha Warnakulasuriya, seasoned restaurateurs with a wealth of culinary expertise. Kumarasingha expresses his excitement about returning to Melbourne’s culinary scene, promising guests an unforgettable gastronomic journey featuring local mud crab and prawns prepared in a uniquely exquisite style.

Located in the exclusive Evergreen event space at Crown Towers, Ministry of Crab will be open for dinner Wednesday to Saturday and lunch on Sundays. The five-course set menu is priced at $155 per person, with optional wine pairings available at an additional cost.
