Lawson: A Life in Words & Music

Lawson – A Life in Words and Music will be brought to life on stage at St Kilda’s Memo Music Hall on Saturday 13 May as John Schumann and The Vagabond Crew perform the ‘Lawson’ album in its entirety.

The emotional and compelling narrative which links the songs in the Lawson concert set was written by Schumann and his friend and teacher, Professor Brian Matthews, an acclaimed author and academic who sadly died in July 2022.

After its first highly successful performance at the Governor Hindmarsh in 2019, John Schumann and the Vagabond Crew performed Lawson with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra to a capacity Adelaide Festival Theatre on the centenary of Lawson’s death, September 2, 2022. This performance was narrated by Richard Roxburgh.

At the Memo Music Hall performance, the narrative will be delivered by respected South Australian ABC broadcaster and journalist, David Bevan.
