The Icelandic singer and composer has added another Melbourne show to her debut Australian tour.

Laufey – the Icelandic singer, composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist – is heading to Australia this June for her debut tour. Last week, she sold out her Sydney and Melbourne dates almost instantly, and now she has added a second Melbourne show for her matinee show at Melbourne’s own Howler on June 10.

Laufey’s love for jazz has propelled her to great heights of success, and she has sold out shows in concert halls around the world, alongside big names like Björk and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Her debut single, “Street by Street,” released in 2020, garnered critical acclaim, and she has been on a roll ever since.

Laufey’s debut studio album, Everything I Know About Love (2022), peaked at #14 on the US Heatseekers albums chart, with track Valentine peaking at #1 on the Spotify Jazz Chart, alongside another Laufey hit Let You Break My Heart Again. In the same year, Laufey appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and was the most streamed jazz artist on Spotify.

Her debut single Street by Street (2020) – written while she attended the Berklee College of Music – reached the top of the Icelandic radio charts and caught the eyes of contemporaries like Billie Eilish, Willow Smith, V of BTS and dodie. Following the release of her Typical of Me EP (2021), Laufey was named Best New Artist in Jazz and Blues at the Icelandic Music Awards and hosted her own show on BBC Radio 3/BBC Sounds.
