“The fact that shitty little bands and people who don’t really care enough about music to learn their instrument and check out good music become successful. And then the song they become successful with is a pile of crap.”

What’s your name, And the name of your band…

"Kizzy."

Define your genre in five words or less:

"Truth, lies, sex, guitar, attitude."

And what do you do in the band?

"I AM the band. I play guitar, sing, play harmonica and a stomp box. You can catch me doing all these at once along with a new addition of wrist bells. Seriously."

How long have you been gigging and writing?

"I wrote my first song when I was about 9 or 10 on the piano, so, a long time! It was about being stranded on an island."

Which band would you most like to have a battle/showdown with?

"John Mayer. He thinks he can play guitar, but I think I can take him down."

What inspires or has influenced your music the most?

"Those who have put their balls on the line and have pushed boundaries against the complaints and restraints of stupid-arse boring people who are happy playing it safe. I strive to make some kind of dent in this universe. Plus the fact that if I can’t be creative, then I may as well be dead."

What makes you happiest about what you’re doing?

"That I CAN do it."

What do you hate about the music industry?

"The fact that shitty little bands and people who don’t really care enough about music to learn their instrument and check out good music become successful. And then the song they become successful with is a pile of crap."

What has been your favourite gig you’ve played to date?

"My EP launch. Not so much the way the way the gig went down playing-wise, but the support and love I got from my friends and people I have met along the way in the year I moved to Melbourne from Perth."
