Stand Right Up is the first single from local act King Cannon’s forthcoming debut record, due out next year. It’s clean as a whistle, this tune, from its peppy bongo beat to its understated call and response chorus. It twangs, it twists and generally has a good time, without risk of offending anyone’s grandmother. I am, for some reason, reminded of Footloose by Kenny Loggins.
