Karise Eden, the winner of The Voice, attempts to upstage Adele with this self-flagellating torch song: “I don’t want to say goodbye, want to give it one more try / But you won’t let me, you won’t let me.” Jeebus. That is some miserable business right there, however beautifully performed. Much like Adele’s Someone Like You, her talent only makes it worse.
