Josh Pyke too has a new album on the way (Only Sparrows, out August 19). No One Wants A Lover is the lead single and a charging, upbeat tune, but there’s something usually naff about it. If not for Josh’s trademark understated vocal, which I find coy and emotionally guarded, this would sound like a country cross-over tune. Different vocal track and we’re in Taylor Swift territory.
