Jeremiah Watkins brings his wildly unpredictable stand-up show to Melbourne

Jeremiah Watkins
words by staff writer

American stand-up Jeremiah Watkins is heading to Australia for a run of shows that promises anything but a quiet night out.

Known for a style that’s equal parts physical and spontaneous, Jeremiah Watkins has built a reputation as one of the more exciting live acts doing the rounds right now, and Australian audiences are finally getting a crack at seeing what the fuss is about.

Jeremiah Watkins isn’t exactly short on credentials. His debut hour special Jeremiah Watkins: Family Reunion is streaming on Amazon Prime, and his second hour special DADDY is up on YouTube.

He voices the Joker on DC Superhero Girls, co-hosts the Trailer Tales Podcast, and his ongoing series Stand-Up On The Spot has clocked up serious viral numbers. Throw in appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, HBO’s Crashing, Netflix’s Historical Roasts, Carpool Karaoke, and Roast Battle, and you’ve got someone who clearly isn’t slowing down.

What makes Watkins worth your Thursday, Friday, or Sunday night is the live show itself. His off-the-cuff approach means no two performances are the same. It’s the kind of comedy that keeps you on your toes, never quite sure where things are headed next. If unpredictability is your thing, this one’s for you.

Tickets are available through each venue directly. Melbourne presale runs Thursday, 30 April at 11:00am through to Friday, 1 May at 10:00am, with general public on sale from Friday, 1 May at 11:00am.
