His solo album Humannequin is out on Friday September 20. The lead-off single Hold On Forever will impact radio Monday August 12 and will be available digitally on Friday August 16.

The album was produced by Charles Fisher, one of Australia’s most successful record producers and one time owner of Sydney’s Trafalgar Studios. Best known for his work with Savage Garden, whose debut album sold 15 million worldwide, Fisher also produced Radio Birdman, Air Supply, Hoodoo Gurus, Olivia Newton-John, Gyan, Moving Pictures, 1927, Electric Pandas, The Radiators and Ace of Bass. He has notched up 40 gold and platinum albums.

Singh reveals, “I first met Charles in a café in LA. We had a fantastic discussion about song writing and music generally. Fast forward a couple of years, I’m preparing songs for my own album and heard that Charles had relocated from LA to Melbourne. I made contact and visited him at his home studio (in Point Cook) to play him the songs I had been working on. Upon hearing the demos I’d recorded, Charles expressed a keen interest in producing the album. We immediately clicked as a creative team.”

The Ambition deal sees Singh reunited with its founder, Robert Rigby, one time WEA Records managing director who was responsible for introducing Taxiride to Warner Music heads around the world. The band, which had three Top 10 hits in Australia with ‘Get Set’, ‘Everywhere You Go’ and ‘Creepin’ Up Slowly’ and had airplay in North America, Europe and Asia where they toured.

Ambition this year had Top 10 success with Russell Morris and Renee Geyer, and just signed Wendy Matthews. Rigby says, “I have had a long history with Jason and Charles each respectively with Taxiride and Savage Garden in my days at Warner Music. I am really thrilled to be working with them again and to have Jason on our label; he is a top rate song smith and talent.”
