Constructing a strange, alluring pastiche of a love-letter to the rich history of UK club culture, Jamie xx exudes his trademark restraint, injecting just enough of a beat to maintain a transfixing groove. The steel drums should feel out of place, but it somehow works amongst the on-trend percussive grind. Through a grab-bag of vocal samples, Jamie xx manages to craft something heartfelt and personal.
