Jackie Bornstein is one of Melbourne’s most captivating jazz, chanson and bossa nova singers, known for her rich tones and ability to get to the heart of a tune. Jackie’s performances champion music from across the globe, sharing timeless stories from diverse cultures.

With Song of Songs Jackie shares the music and stories of some of her favourite Jewish composers who have been recorded by greats including Edith Piaf, Ella Fitzgerald, Rosa Passos, The Andrews Sisters, Diana Krall and many more.

From the Yemenite tones of Ofra Haza’s Love Song (Song of Songs) to the show tunes of Irving Berlin and Jackie’s own originals, the repertoire follows Jackie’s journey through musical genres including Yiddish theatre song, pop, jazz, bossa nova and chanson.

Featuring works by Leonard Bernstein, Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Keren Ann, Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields, Carol King, Georges Moustaki and Jackie Bornstein herself, this charming performance is not to be missed.
