The SURFILMUSIC tour marks Johnson’s long-awaited return to touring since 2022, bringing more than two decades of catalogue to the stage. He’ll be joined by his longtime bandmates Adam Topol, Merlo Podlewski and Zach Gill, with fans set to hear tracks including Better Together, Flake, Inaudible Melodies, Taylor and Sitting, Waiting, Wishing. New material from the forthcoming SURFILMUSIC soundtrack, scored by Johnson alongside Hermanos Gutiérrez and due for release on 15 May, will also feature.

The tour takes its name from the SURFILMUSIC documentary, which traces Johnson’s journey from surfer to filmmaker to musician. The film follows his early days on Hawaii’s north shore through the creation of his surf films Thicker Than Water and The September Sessions, right up to the launch of his recording career. Details on Australian and New Zealand screenings of the documentary and the original surf films are still to come.

Harper brings a catalogue spanning 18 studio albums and more than 16 million records sold worldwide, with tracks like Burn One Down, Steal My Kisses and Diamonds On The Inside all in the arsenal. Butler, meanwhile, draws from over a quarter of a century of material, including signature songs Zebra, Better Than and his legendary instrumental piece Ocean.

Emily Wurramara, the AIR Award-winning and ARIA-nominated artist, will join the bill for the Sydney show at The Domain on 14 November.
