Following a hugely successful debut last weekend.
In what was a revolutionary showcase of live music, last weekend the inaugural Isol-Aid brought bedroom performances from the likes of Julia Jacklin, Angie McMahon, Stella Donnelly, Harvey Sutherland and Didirri into the palm of your hand.
Instagram blew up as some of Australia’s biggest music names performed live to air. The brainchild of Rhiannon Atkinson-Howatt (Merpire), Emily Ulman and Shannen Egan of Turning Heads Agency, the event was a huge success and is set to make its return this Saturday and Sunday.
Speaking to The Music, Atkinson-Howatt was ecstatic with the results of the festival. “We were just so overwhelmed with how much happiness it brought,” Atkinson-Howatt said. “We don’t want to big note ourselves or anything, but it really seems like it spread a lot of hope across the internet which is really nice. All three of us are addicted to just keep bringing that same vibe as long as we can.
“I wasn’t sure how it was going to go down but it was pretty amazing to watch the numbers climb. It was pretty incredible to watch the audience interact not only with the artists playing, but each other.”
The first names of this weekend’s event have been announced with Marlon Williams, Courtney Barnett, Josh Pyke, Jen Cloher and Sarah Blasko set to get involved. Plenty more names will be announced in the coming days.
The second instalment of Isol-Aid kicks off from midday on Saturday. Find out more via the Isol-Aid Facebook page.
