In a massive win for Victoria's music scene, veteran manager and industry champion Fiona Duncan has been announced as Music Victoria's new CEO.
The appointment marks a crucial turning point for the peak body, with Duncan bringing more than three decades of experience across artist management, event coordination, and industry development to the role.
Duncan’s career reads like a who’s who of Australian music success stories. As one of Australia’s longest-serving female music managers, she’s best known for steering Spiderbait from scrappy upstarts to genuine rock royalty, complete with ARIA #1s, Hottest 100 victories, and sold-out theatre tours.

Music Victoria board chair Chris O’Neill reckons they’ve struck gold: “Fiona’s comprehensive understanding of the music industry, combined with her experience in local government and major events, makes her exceptionally qualified to lead Music Victoria into its critical and transformative next chapter. Most recently, Duncan’s been crushing it as National Live and Local Program Coordinator at the Live Music Office, while maintaining her board position with the Association of Artist Managers.
