For months Howler has been connecting the worlds of live bands and dance music, showcasing up and coming stars with global names, and adding a touch of storytelling, burlesque, visual arts and even science, to captivate those eager to discover something new.

Tucked away just off Sydney Road, the venue is a little oasis where you can escape the hustle and bustle and settle in for a night of entertainment. Whether you’re into punk, breakbeat, indie, country or even burlesque, this month’s program is something special.

With not one, but TWO day festivals as well as a ton of other treats happening in November, Howler is gearing up for a massive summer. A bunch of events have already sold out, so we suggest securing your tickets soon so you don’t miss out.

Floating Dreams kicks off November at Howler with the return of Seven Drops. The dynamic duo are known for weaving together organic, deep, and progressive house with a live twist. With support from eM and Nat (live) and Floating Dreams, this one’s set to be a journey through melodic electronica that hits both the heart and the hips.

Whether you want to tell your own tale or just kick back and watch, it’s an open-mic storytelling competition with a difference, full of sharp wit and big laughs.

For the first time in a decade, Pony Face are revisiting their reimagining of Bruce Springsteen’s stark Nebraska album at Howler. Originally released in 2014, their version of the lo-fi American Gothic classic was co-produced with Casey Rice and pieced together across Melbourne bedrooms and studios. With guest appearances from Mo’Ju, Loretta Miller, and Shane O’Mara, plus support from The Flickering Stars and The Wraylettes, this calculated meditation on Springsteen’s towering masterpiece promises an intimate night of contemplative folk.

Buckle up for a full-on day party at Howler as Helluva Ride hits its third edition. Expect an eclectic mix of rock and punk-adjacent acts including Alien Nosejob, Dumb Punts and Enola, plus DJs, live activations, flash tattoos and surprises all day long. With the garden bar turned into a front row for chaos, this one’s the kind of gig you tell your mates about.

ARSELESS CHAPS

The irreverent duo Arseless Chaps, made up of Damian Cowell (of TISM fame) and comedy legend Tony Martin, roll into Howler to celebrate their new album with what promises to be their biggest headline show yet. Expect sharp satire, synth-powered beats and an evening that’s by turns hilarious, biting and dance-floor ready.

The charming folk ensemble The Maes are rolling into Brunswick for their Abreast album release tour, joined by Nashville-based support Liv Greene.
