With Cellophane, Holy Holy take a bold step forward, shedding inhibitions and embracing a collaborative spirit.

Holy Holy have unleashed their fifth studio album, Cellophane, today. Comprising the dynamic duo of Timothy Carroll and Oscar Dawson, Holy Holy has become an ARIA Double Platinum act known for pushing boundaries and reinventing their sound.

Keep up with the latest music news, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

This album features an impressive lineup of cross-genre guests, more than any of their previous releases. Among these collaborators are Sydney rap sensation Kwame, Ethiopian-Australian neo-soul talent Medhanit, and electronica act Sumner, who join forces for their single Ready.

The album also boasts the talents of Gumbaynggirr multi-hyphenate Tasman Keith, Perth newcomer Darcie Haven, UK upstart Tia Carys, and Swedish bedroom-pop artist Many Voices Speak.

Describing the album’s extensive features, guitarist/producer Dawson highlights the confidence that has grown within the duo over their decade-plus partnership. “We’ve made a lot of progress, especially as songwriters – we’ve been really able to narrow in on a musical idea and get a real feel for a song.

“After making most of Hello My Beautiful World on our own because of COVID, it was so nice to be able to get together with people in a room and make music together again.”

While 2021’s ARIA-nominated Hello My Beautiful World was Holy Holy’s leap into the unknown, Cellophane is a fearless free-fall into uncharted musical territory. Carroll explains, “We didn’t force anything. I was really excited about the idea of letting go of being concerned about what other people would think, and really just trusting ourselves.”

To complement the album’s essence, Cellophane will be available on vinyl in four transparent colours, inspired by the album’s captivating cover art. Longtime collaborator Timothy Lovett designed the mesmerising artwork.

Holy Holy will celebrate the album’s release with intimate events across the country, performing a selection of tracks in stripped-back duo mode.. These events offer fans the chance to delve into the making of their favourite songs, engage in audience Q&A sessions, and even participate in vinyl/CD signings with the artists themselves.
