Summer nights are only just starting to ramp up, and February at Ferdydurke is all the proof you need.

Down a laneway and up into a loft,  Ferdydurke’s gig space right in the middle of Melbourne’s CBD is promising all the leisure, pleasure and liquor you need to keep you dancing until the sunrise on that last day of summer.

Boasting a fully packed month of hip hop, house, Afrobeat, jazz and more, the Ferdydurke February lineup means worrying about where to party is a problem you won’t have until autumn. All that’s left to sort out is the choice between the Lo Mismo cocktail and the Rizz Fizz one… Gosh, it’s a hard life.

For the full rundown on what’s on at Ferdy in February, read on.

Keep up with the latest music news, features, festivals, interviews and reviews here.

Ejip

  • Thursday, February 22
  • With Tumi the Be, Rozanne, PINAE and Addzy

Melbourne-based, Nepal-born artist Ejip will be bringing the heat to the Ferdy loft in late February with a performance sure to move and grove. Joined by Tumi the Be (live) and Rozanne (live) with sounds curated by Adzzy and PINAE, Ejip and his three-man ensemble will most certainly be one of the highlights at Ferdy this month.

Called Got Something to Say, this event will be a celebration of the two-year anniversary of Ejip’s debut album What Can I Say?, with a special performance of Ejip’s latest single Breathe. Kicking off the last weekend of the summer, this is a gig surely not to be slept on.

Apple Bottom Queens

  • Saturday, February 10
  • With Mrs Wallace, Anitra, Miss Fee and Bellyas

If you’re after a night of nothing but grooving, look no further than Ferdy’s Apple Bottom Queens. With a killer lineup of Afrobeat, dancehall, global house and amapiano music, this will be a Saturday full to the brim of dancing and deep percussion.

Frenquency

Beats Without Borders

  • Wednesday, February 14
  • With Mz Rizk (PBS FM) and No Era

Stuck for Valentine’s ideas? Wanting to avoid all the plastic-hearted affection enveloping the city? Come on up to the loft and forgo commercial displays of connection in exchange for the real thing. With Mz Rizk and No Era curating a night of rhythmic embrace at this soulful house event, it’ll be hard not to fall in love with this sonic haven of a party.

Project Legacy

  • Thursday, February 15
  • With Baraka the Kid, QUEEN RHI and Nomad

Presented by Vibe Union, Project Legacy will be a night for both new artists and old faves. With a range of live performances and DJs, gracing the stage of the loft will be a mix of both upcoming and established local and international hip hop and R&B performers. Perfect for those post-Valentines blues.

Much More

The flawless blend of house and Italo, Much More is bringing much much more to this Friday in February. Featuring Socks Before Pants and Alessio Latina, Ferdy will be the perfect place to be to start off the weekend right: with nothing but grooving and moving, and maybe a Rizz Fizz or two.
