Bad news for all the Young Thug fans out there. The Atlanta rapper’s Australian tour, which was meant to begin this week, has been cancelled. Young Thug, who recently announced he was changing his name to SEX, was set to perform a headline show at Festival Hall, however promoters have confirmed he was unable to secure a visa on time. This is the second time Young Thug has cancelled a trip to Australia. He was on the bill for last year’s Laneway festival but was dropped before the festival started. Don’t stress, refunds for the Melbourne show will be issued automatically.

Hailing from sunny California, rising hip hop star KYLE AKA SuperDuperKyle has announced he will be heading Down Under for his debut headline tour this May. The ‘iSpy’ rapper is known for his bubblegum trap beats and video game samples. He’s collaborated with some of the biggest names in hip hop including Chance the Rapper, Kehani, Miguel and DRAM and is currently working on his third album. With his feel-good vibes and tongue-in-cheek lyrics, Kyle will head south of the equator for Groovin’ the Moo and perform at the Corner Hotel on Wednesday May 2.

If your hip hop icons include the almighty Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa and Joey Purp then you must be familiar with the Savemoney crew. Vic Mensa formed the Chicago-based rap collective many years ago and the family has grown to include Nico Segal, Towkio and Kami. One of the youngest members Brian Fresco released his breakthrough album Casanova back in 2017. The 23-year-old has just released a string of rap singles and will head to Melbourne next month to celebrate. Geelong-based rapper Manny Lado and Melbourne’s Jalmar will perform alongside Brian Fresco for a free show at Laundry Bar on Sunday March 18.

Melding hip hop with new wave pop, up-and-coming local rap artist Hudson Wallace has released his latest single ‘You’re the One Who Walked Away’. After releasing his debut EP Midnight mid-2017, Hudson took a short hiatus but is back in the game with an upcoming mixtape titled We Need to Talk About Hudson. With a new sound helmed by producer The Delivery Boy, Hudson will perform his new single at The Workers Club on Tuesday March 6 with support from MC Wasp, DJ Dopebeat and Huge if True.
