After a public battle with mental health and addiction, Australian hip hop royalty 360 is back in the game, churning out new music with a fresh outlook on life. This new release is a re-awakening for the iconic artist. 360 has ignored the pressures to imitate the current trends in contemporary hip hop and has instead released a unique album filled with charm and honesty. Re-invigorated, 360’s energetic Vintage Modern speaks about his personal trials and does not shy away from social commentary. A mix of upbeat jams and serious tunes, 360’s signature style and raw lyricism are highlighted by the slick production of long-time collaborator Styalz Fuego. The enigmatic rapper has also announced the Vintage Modern national tour in 2018. He’ll perform an under-18 gig on Saturday February 24 at The Evelyn Hotel and an 18+ show at The Forum on Friday March 16.

Melbourne emcee HVNCOQ has released a video for his quirky song ‘Out of My Mind’. This is his first single release since signing with WVS and is guaranteed to grab the attention of the ever-growing hip hop scene. Released just in time for summer, the slow jam is backed by tropical beats and layered with HVNCOQ’s distinct style and flawless delivery. The bright and bubbly visuals are in stark contrast to the sombre lyrics that echo the well-known tale of feeling sad and alone after a night out. HVNCOQ’s debut EP is due for release sometime next year so expect great things.

Watch the Brisbane queen of rap slay her next set when she performs as part of Melbourne Music Week’s Live Music Safari later this month. Sassy emcee Miss Blanks will perform her hit singles ‘Freq U’ and ‘Clap Clap’at Ferdydurke on Thursday November 23, alongside LAY the Mystic, Sovereign Trax and MzRizk. Don’t miss out on this free and fabulous night of neo-soul.

Girls to the Front is back again for round two. This month catch some of the best homegrown talent by some of the fiercest females in the game. Hosted by Poppy, there will be performances by AYWIN, Fresh Violet, G Elenill, Imbi the girl, Netti and many more. Show your support for our leading ladies.
