Pioneers of Australian metal, Sunk Loto, are coming to Melbourne. After selling out their Queensland shows within 24 hours of announcing their return to the live stage, they’ve just announced new dates in Sydney and Melbourne.

Their 2003 Between Birth and Death has been widely regarded by heavy metal fans as one of the most influential Australian heavy metal albums of all time. Peaking at number 48 on the ARIA Albums Chart, number 13 on the ARIA Australasian Artists and number four on the ARIA Heavy Rock & Metal chart. Produced by record producer and audio engineer Phil McKellar, who had previously worked with the likes of Silverchair, Spiderbait and Grinspoon, and who was nominated for ARIA Award for Engineer of the Year for his work on Sunk Loto’s album.

Having played their energetic live shows at Big Day Out, Homebake, Vans Warped Tour, Splendour in The Grass, and Falls, Sunk Loto have staked their claim as an impressive live band. They’ve also toured with the likes of Korn, Linkin Park, Suicidal Tendencies, Perfect Circle, Deftones and Sevendust.
A home-grown band that reigned during the 2000s, Sunk Loto formed in Queensland in 1997, with this tour marking the band’s first shows in 15 years. Featuring all four original members of the band, Luke Mcdonald, Sean Van Gennip, Jason Brown & Dane Brown, this tour marks the first time that the band have played together since their last show at the Hard Rock Hotel in 2007.
