Hannah Gadsby’s ’Douglas’ is getting a Netflix special

Aussie comedy superstar Hannah Gadsby will be releasing her latest stand-up show, Douglas, as a Netflix special in 2020.

Douglas is Gadsby’s 11th stand-up show and touches on the aftermath of Nanette’s success, living with autism and the structural sexism in society.

“I’m so excited to announce today that Douglas will be released on Netflix in 2020,” Gadsby said a Netflix event.

“I’m really enjoying touring with the live performance, but there will be places in the world that I won’t be able to visit, so it’s wonderful that Netflix will bring the show to every corner of the globe.”

Gadsby’s Netflix debut was the stepping stone that launched her unique brand of comedy into the international spotlight. The show covered self-deprecating humour, domestic violence, misogyny and the decision to quit comedy.

Douglas was announced in February this year and made its premiere at the 2019 Melbourne International Comedy Festival to wide acclaim. Gadsby is currently touring the new show overseas.
