Guy Montgomery is bringing Guy Mont-Spelling Bee live to Melbourne for one night only

Guy Montgomery
Words by Staff Writer

Award-winning Kiwi comedian, podcaster, and improviser Guy Montgomery is set to bring his popular Guy Mont-Spelling Bee back to the stage for a live performance at the Palais Theatre on Monday 7 April as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Now a hit TV show on the ABC, the Guy Mont-Spelling Bee originated at the festival and returns after three consecutive years of sold-out shows. Montgomery will be joined by some of the biggest names from the festival as they face rounds of spelling challenges ranging from straightforward to mind-bendingly complex. The event promises to be both a hilarious and exasperating experience for participants, with plenty of entertainment for the audience.

Tickets for the Melbourne show go on sale to the public on Friday 29 November at 12pm local time. My Live Nation members can access presale tickets from 11am local time on Thursday 28 November until 12pm on Friday 29 November.

This live show is part of Montgomery’s broader national tour, I’ve Noticed So Many Things, It’d Be Unfair To Keep Them To Myself. The tour includes performances at major festivals and venues across Australia, such as the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Canberra Comedy Festival, Atheneum Theatre in Melbourne, Perth Comedy Festival, Sydney Comedy Festival, and shows in Brisbane, Newcastle, Wollongong, Gold Coast, and Geelong.

Montgomery has become a familiar face to Australian audiences through appearances on Have You Been Paying Attention, Thank God You’re Here, and his own ABC series, Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont-Spelling Bee. His 2024 sold-out tour, Over 50,000,000 Guy Fans Can’t Be Wrong, saw him performing in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. This year, he also hosted the Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

Tickets for all shows are on sale now, with tickets for the Melbourne show going live on Friday 29 November at 12pm. For full ticket details, visit Live Nation.
