Fixation Brewing Co has its origins in a voyage to the west coast of the United States, complete with mandatory sampling of the diverse range of IPAs native to that region. Inspired by the proliferation of hoppy bitterness and floral flavours in US IPAs, the blokes at Fixation Brewing Co set their sights on bringing these alcoholic delights to Australian shores, all from their base in Byron Bay. With Good Beer Week looking to take over Melbourne’s drinking holes for a deceptively long week between Friday May 12 and Sunday May 21, Fixation Brewing Co has fixed their sights on The Old Bar in Fitzroy. During Fixation Fest, there will be four Fixation IPAs on offer, including one special edition variety making its first ever public appearance. Working with the premise that drinking and listening go together pretty well, The Old Bar will be providing attendees with musical entertainment, with appearances from The Shabbab, Foxtrot, Cosmic Kahuna and The Berkeley Hunts. Entry is only $12 at the door, and includes a complimentary pot of any Fixation beer to kick off your evening. Hop over to The Old Bar on Saturday May 20 from 8.30pm to get your fill.
