A highlight is always the Out of the Park Picnic, which will go down on March 12 at Edwardes Lake Park this year. Hosted by MC Queen Acknowledgements AKA Nartarsha Bamblett, a proud Yorta Yorta, Gunai Kurnai, Walpiri and Wiradjuri woman, it’s a free afternoon full of culture, art, good, music and strong community voice.

With its vibrant energy, diverse programming, and focus on creativity and experimentation, Out of the Park Picnic is set to have performances from Emma Donovan, DJ Jumps and Dorsal Fins, as well as an all-inclusive interactive drum and movement activity presented by African Star Dance.

The festival also provides an excellent opportunity for local artists to discuss their work. This year, FUSE are presenting their first Artist Keynote with Mat Watson, discussing modular synthesisers and experimental sound.

As well as performances and installations, the FUSE Festival also features a Meet the Makers session, spotlighting Darebin’s amazing local winemakers for a day of homemade wine as well as a performance from Pirritu.

Experience the city’s dynamic arts scene at its very best with their closing party, featuring The Last Dance by All The Queens Men – an all-out afternoon soiree of Motown and disco classics designed for the whole LGBTQIA+ and allied community, performed by iconic vocalists including Wendy Stapleton, Sarah WardNefertiti LaNegra and more.

It all goes down across the City of Darebin from March 11 to 26. Find out more by heading here.
