Check out Spacetember at IMAX throughout September.

Spacetember includes the highly-requested Interstellar on IMAX 1570 Film (which sold out in five minutes last time…), 2001: A Space Odyssey, First Man, Gravity 3D, Apollo 11 and Nope.

All films in the line-up are made to be experienced on an IMAX screen with Interstellar, First Man and Nope all containing sequences that fill the entire seven-storey tall screen and immerse the audience right into the depths of space – exclusive to IMAX only.

After its sell-out Nolanathon run, Interstellar on IMAX 1570 Film is back as the festival’s headliner. Since its release in 2014, IMAX Melbourne has played the film 210 times and have welcomed over 55,000 people to experience Nolan’s masterpiece.

Half of the films they’re showing (Interstellar, First Man and Nope) include sequences in IMAX’s exclusive expanded aspect ratio that delivers more than 40% more image than regular cinemas.

However, all the films showing throughout the festival are premium IMAX content, which have been optimised to be experienced on a giant IMAX screen including 2001: A Space Odyssey. Stanley Kubrick’s classic was digitally remastered in the stunning IMAX 4K Digital format for its 50th anniversary in 2018.

Spacetember will kick off on September 14 and tickets will be on sale August 16 at 12pm for IMAX’s Big League members, 1pm for everyone else.

Tickets can be purchased once on sale here.
