Jazz singer and pianist Jade Leonard is offering free in-home performances for you in Melbourne
Professional jazz singer and pianist Jade Leonard is offering 45-minute live performances to people in the broader Melbourne metropolitan area, completely free of charge.
The project, called Jazz At Your Place, launched in Moonee Valley last May, and after many successful free in-home jazz performances it will now be expanded to a Victoria-wide audience.
The expansion of Jade Leonard’s project is thanks to The Exclusive Piano Group (EPG) who are generously supporting Jade’s community initiative to bring live music into the homes of people from all over Victoria.
"I am so excited to be supported by such a wonderful company. I can now say I’ve played the best and most wondrous pianos in the world," Jade said after playing the Steinway at EPG’s Essendon DFO showroom.
If you don’t have a piano in your home, worry not! EPG will provide you with a piano suitable for the occasion, and will waive their hire fee so long as you pay for transport and tuning.
The project is also expanding to offer performances to community groups, schools and at events and functions. A minimum of 20 people must be at each of her performances.
Jade has much enthusiasm to entertain full-time.
"I’m still yet to hit my target of one performance every day. At the moment I’m averaging four shows per week, but I’d love to be performing every single day,’ she said.
"That’s why I’m so excited about expanding this project to a wider audience. I really hope it gains momentum and keeps me busy over the coming year!"
Jade is available to perform outside metro Melbourne and can perform for more than 45 minutes, however these performances require a fee. She is currently seeking further sponsorship for Jazz At Your Place in order to initiate a regional and national tour.
