Have you been dreaming of a tropical getaway?

If you act fast, you might be able to score one for cheap. The Vietnamese budget airline Vietjet is having a one-day-only sale on September 9 with millions of zero-dollar flights up for grabs.

Fly to beloved tourist destinations including Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, South Korea and (of course) Vietnam on a free ticket.

 Vietjet Free Flights Flash Sale

  • The sale will take place for 24 hours on Saturday, September 9 starting at midnight
  • They’ll be offering free flights from Melbourne to popular Asian tourist destinations
  • Buyers will still have to pay for taxes and surcharges

Stay up to date with what’s happening in and around Melbourne here.

If you’re thinking it’s too good to be true, you might be right – customers will still need to pay the taxes and surcharges. But let’s be honest, it’s still a pretty sweet deal.

For those who are frantically organising their holidays in the group chat, don’t stress. You’ll have all day long to shop the sale and the discount will be automatically applied at checkout, no code needed, so there isn’t really any way to mess it up.

The hardest part is figuring out which destination to choose. Snorkelling in Koh Tao? Bar-hopping in Busan? Chasing waterfalls in Da Lat? It’s up to you.

The airline even has domestic flights throughout Vietnam, so it might be a good idea to book a few legs while the flights are cheap and avoid those dreaded 14-hour sleeper buses.

Operating out of Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Sydney and flying to 120 destinations around the world, Vietjet was the first privately owned airline in Vietnam.
