Franz Ferdinand have released the video for their latest single, Night Or Day, taken from their upcoming album The Human Fear, due out on Friday, 10 January 2025, through Domino.
The new album marks the band’s return to the studio following their 2018 release Always Ascending and their 2022 greatest hits compilation Hits to the Head.
The video for Night Or Day, directed by Rianne White, is shot entirely in black and white on 16mm film. White described the visuals as capturing the “turbulent, transcendent immensity of feelings” within the band’s Scottish recording studio, AYR Studios. Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos added that the video’s dramatic noir aesthetic aligns with the album’s themes, saying, “Life may never be easy, but damn, we’ll make sure we live it up night or day. The dark heart of Scotland beats strong.”
