After being forced to postpone this year’s event, which was originally slated to commence in June, Footscray‘s winter live music series, West Set, has been cancelled.

The festival was due to kick off on Thursday August 19, enveloping venues in Footscray and Yarraville over nine days.

Launched in 2016 by the Maribyrnong City Council as a means of bolstering the local nighttime economy, West Set 2021 looked to support venues and the creative community amidst a particularly difficult time.

This year’s event was billed to host performances from over 60 acts – many from the inner west – across 12 venues in Footscray and Yarraville.

The festival will honour all artist payments despite the cancellation, as well as connecting all acts billed for West Set with host venues to independently reschedule gigs in the future.

Full refunds will be offered for headline ticketed shows.
