Foo Fighters announce ninth studio album ‘Concrete and Gold’

Dave Grohl describes Concrete and Gold as “the biggest sounding Foo Fighters record ever” and dubbed it “Motorhead’s version of Sgt. Pepper … or something like that.”

The album combines the best of Foo Fighters’ heavy rock with the pop expertise of producer Greg Kurstin who has previously worked with the likes of Adele, Sia and Pink.

The ultimate album celebration – titled CAL JAM 17 in a nod to the 1974 festival of the same name – will see acts including Queens of the Stone Age, Cage the Elephant, Liam Gallagher, The Kills and Royal Blood participate in a day-long marathon of music. The event will also feature camping, carnival rides, a water park and even a mobile recording studio.
