Brunswick Ballroom will host the album launch for Small Town Romance on Sunday, 15 September 2024.
The band, featuring Flora Smith and Jim Arneman, will perform songs from their highly anticipated second record, Home Fires. The event promises an afternoon of music with a seven-piece band, special guests, and support from Katie May & the Mystics.

Home Fires is a rich and ambitious collection of songs that showcase Small Town Romance’s blend of folk, country, and roots influences. The album is a mix of confessional and observational songs, offering finely attuned insights with closely observed portraits reminiscent of writers like Guy Clark and Don Walker. Flora and Jim’s unique sound reflects their Australian roots while paying homage to classic country.
Katie May, a prominent vocalist known for her warm tonalities, will join Small Town Romance with her new band, The Mystics. Katie has previously performed with artists such as Joe Camilleri, Dan Brodie, and Ben Mastwyk, and is now ready to showcase her own sound.
