Flesh Mirror is a surreal piece of experimental performance, created by choreographer Rebecca Jensen in collaboration with the boundary-defying ensemble, Weave Movement Theatre.
This collective creation folds reality in on itself, fusing speculative fiction with lived experience, positioning disability not as a limitation but as a source of creative and imaginative power.
Challenging conventional ideas of inclusive performance, this work repositions disability and difference as central forces in artistic expression.
As doppelgängers drift in and out, biographies twist and unravel, Flesh Mirror brims with humour, pop culture references and speculative reflections.
“Flesh Mirror is a playful yet deeply affecting exploration of identity – it’s about how we see ourselves, how we perceive each other and the multiple worlds we inhabit,” said Jensen.
During the 2024 development of Flesh Mirror, Weave Movement Theatre mourned the loss of ensemble member Uncle Greg Muir.
The world premiere of Flesh Mirror will be dedicated to Uncle Greg, honouring his lasting impact, generous spirit and creative contributions on both the ensemble and this production.
