For artists, it’s an opportunity to experiment with new genres, mingle with fellow performers and show off what they’ve got. For those in the audience, it’s a captivating experience. Every moment is different than the next – expect the unexpected.
Electronica three-piece Acid West hosted the first Jam-uary on Jan 4, offering sample chops, breakbeats and acid melodies and starting off the series with a bang.
Next up, the Moses Carr Trio will bring their smooth blues and free-flowing improv jazz on Jan 11, providing an insatiable sonic backdrop for those who dare to step on stage. On January 18, keyboardist Jake Amy will be hosting the night, before jazz, funk, hip hop, boogie and house collective OJ Kush takes the grand finale on January 25.
