‘Homecoming’ is an expansive national tour that will take artists back to their hometowns for shows throughout Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia.

Following the overwhelming demand for tickets across New South Wales, Homecoming ’22 is coming to Victoria. The tour aims to reunite musicians with their hometowns, many of whom have not been able to return since the COVID-19 pandemic began.

The Homecoming tour will make stops in Ballarat, Melbourne, Castlemaine, Beechworth and Geelong on its Victorian leg of the tour.

A huge part of the Homecoming initiative is to bring life back into the rural music industry and bolster local tourism. “Growing up in the far South Coast of NSW, I was always thankful for the peace and comradery of small town life, but live music was rare,” Homecoming co-founder Cody Munro Moore explains. “This is about bringing artists back to the places of their youth, and providing live music and culture to tight-knit, local communities that have given us so much.”

“It’s also about celebrating historic venues that have served as the epicentre of regional life,” Cody Munro continues. “All around Australia there are beautiful old wooden halls, some over a hundred years old, that have hosted weddings, balls, birthdays and touring musicians. We hope our Homecoming tour will help reinvigorate these spaces, and fill them with the sounds of Australian musicians who owe so much of their work and inspiration to their quiet, quaint and unique hometowns.”

Presented by Dinosaur City Records, the full festival lineup consists of Ajak Kwai, EXEK, Cool Sounds, Romero, Parsnip, Crepes, Chitra, Solo Career, Punko, Skydeck, Deuce, Doe St, The Prize, Moody Beaches and Chimpanzee. Tickets are on sale now.
