After the roaring success of his debut ‘Syzygy Orchestra’ performance at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, Opiuo has announced he’ll be bringing it all the way Down Under for an exclusive show in Melbourne.

The Syzygy Orchestra re-works Opiuo’s tracks into a lush, mesmerising fever dream of classical and electronic sounds. The result? Something purely contemporary.

The New Zealand-born funk-bass producer and performer crafted his monumental 20-piece ‘Syzgy Orchestra’ after the release of his EP Syzygy 01 in March, and premiered the live lineup in April alongside support slots Sunsquabi, Flamingosis and Anomalie.

“Performing with an orchestra has been a lifelong musical dream,” says Opiuo. “There’s an infinite power and succulent warmth that comes with organic vibrational matter, something that takes you off into a far off realm. That, coupled with the power of electronic beats is such a powerful experience.

“I’ve worked on this show with some of the most talented classical musicians for longer than I can remember, and nothing makes me happier than bringing it home for a very special Melbourne performance.”
