Emily Lubitz steps out solo with album launch show featuring support from Harry James Angus.

After more than a decade with award-winning indie-folk pioneers Tinpan Orange, Emily Lubitz is ready to showcase her individual artistry. The singer-songwriter will launch her debut solo album Two Black Horses at Brunswick Ballroom on 24 July, marking a significant milestone in her musical journey.

Emily Lubitz has built an impressive collaborative history throughout her career, working alongside notable artists including Paul Kelly, Martha Wainwright, Emma Donovan and Mama Kin. Despite these established connections, her solo work carries the raw energy and authenticity of a breakthrough artist discovering her own voice.

The new record Two Black Horses presents a unique sonic landscape that evokes classic Hollywood cinema, blending influences from country legends with contemporary indie-folk sensibilities. Emily Lubitz promises a live performance that will deliver both emotional depth and irresistible rhythms, supported by her accomplished band.

Adding to the evening’s appeal, Harry James Angus from The Cat Empire and Jackson Jackson will perform one of his rare solo sets. Known for his unpredictable yet consistently excellent performances, Angus brings an additional layer of musical sophistication to the night.

Ticket options range from general admission at $35 to premium reserved seating with meal included at $75.80. The venue offers accessibility features including an Acorn chairlift and companion ticket acceptance. Brunswick Ballroom’s kitchen will serve from their main menu until approximately 9pm.
