Electronic: Perc, Roland Tings, and Mount Liberation Unlimited are all bringing the goods this weekend

This Friday December 15, UK techno institution Perc is set to pummel The Sub Club for the Bunker crew. One of the true veterans of the scene, Perc has been releasing music since the early 2000s and running his extremely well-regarded label Perc Trax since 2004. He released his third album Bitter Music back in April, a relentlessly grim collection of dystopian techno, likely reflective of Perc’s frustration with the whole Brexit thing. Behind the decks and live he brings a focused and intense sound that’s given him the reputation of a ‘must-see’ on the techno bucket list. Local support comes from ACM (live), Matt Radovich, D-REX, Roman Ćinske and Concealed.

On Saturday at The Penny Black, local house producer Roland Tings, who’s recently expanded his live show to a band format, is getting back behind the decks for a three-hour jaunt. Roland Tings has had an incredible few years since he released his debut on LA-based label 100% Silk – his melodic jacking house music finding an audience both in the underground club scene and more mainstream outlets like triple j, without ever compromising his intention of making pure dance music. He’ll be joined by DJ duo Otologic, Jesse Young and DJ Sarah. Kicks off at 1pm and goes right through ‘til the early morning.

In the city, Swedish duo Mount Liberation Unlimited are set to bring their monster live show to Lucid at Lounge. We last saw them in Australia for Meredith this time last year where they had the crowd in the palm of their hands. Their sets feature a mountain of synths, drum machines, live percussion and vocals, and distils what dance music is all about – ecstatic, hands in the air good times. Local support comes from Emma Stevenson, Edge Worker DJ, Common Nocturne and resident mad dawgs 6am At The Garage. Kicks off at 10pm; you probably want to get there early for this one.
