Through Preserved, Elms explores the relationship between humans and suburban fauna, delving into the congenital link between us and them. “[Preserved] erects an invisible barrier between us and the animals,” stated Elms, “a physical barrier but in many ways and with more consequences to us, a psychological barrier.”
