Doubloonapalooza, pitched as Melbourne's first pirate music festival, drops anchor at Carlton's John Curtin Hotel on 19 September.
Seven acts will pack the upstairs bandroom for a single night of punk, metal, sea shanties and general maritime racket.
Doubloonapalooza pulls pirate-themed bands and performers together from across the country for the occasion, built around loud music and a fairly committed dedication to pirate culture.

Leading the bill are Melbourne punk crew Projectile Dysfunction, joined by Adelaide’s Captain Hellfire and The Wretched Brethren and pirate metal outfit The Rum Runners.
Filling out the card are fuzz-heavy act Vessel, swamp-rock band Burn In Hell and the more atmospheric Mystery Daughter. The Melbourne Sea Shanty Society rounds out the roster with booming harmonies and call-and-response choruses made for a room full of voices.
The John Curtin Hotel is a long-running live music pub on Lygon Street, and its upstairs room has hosted local and touring acts across punk, metal and plenty in between for years. For a lineup this loud and this thoroughly committed to the bit, it’s a fitting berth. Ahoy!
