Partnerships:

– Develop, deliver and review the Melbourne Fringe partnerships strategy, in line with the organisation’s business plan, and in consultation with the CEO 

– Generate revenue for Melbourne Fringe from new and existing partnerships and secure required in kind contributions

– Build and nurture relationship with current partners, review annually and identify potential for growth

– Manage all aspects of corporate partner relationships – including contracts, servicing, VIP ticketing, events, evaluation and reporting 

– Strategically identify and research potential corporate partners, and manage new approaches 

– Prepare partner reporting on Festival and relationship achievements 

Private Giving & Philanthropy:

– Develop, deliver and review the Melbourne Fringe private giving strategy and philanthropy, in line with the organisation’s business plan 

– Develop and manage a portfolio of prospective donors

– Develop and write appropriate communications and proposals which are suitable to a prospective donor’s interests and which effectively advance the relationship 

– Ensure a high level of donor stewardship, cultivating strong relationships and regular communication with donors

– Oversee the grant seeking and acquittal processes from trusts and foundations, and Private Ancillary Funds (PAFs)

– Develop and implement appropriate stewardship plans which foster significant long term philanthropic relationships  

Stakeholder Development & Relationship Management:

– Represent the organisation at public forums and events related to Philanthropy and as requested

– Work to further engage members of the Board in philanthropic activity

– Work collaboratively with the Melbourne Fringe team to ensure an integrated and cohesive fundraising and engagement program

– Prepare and provide timely, accurate and regular reports on major gift activities 

– Create comprehensive processes to track and record contacts and maintain information on prospective donors

– Contribute to the development of suitable marketing strategies which support and promote a private giving and philanthropic program 

As a senior Melbourne Fringe staff member:

– Foster a culture of collaboration, both internally and externally

– Supervise any staff and interns in the Development team 

– Represent Melbourne Fringe at meetings, functions and industry events 

– Provide advice and support for artists at forums and as required

– Contribute to reports and acquittals to funding bodies and government organisations

– Actively participate in strategic planning and business development at the organisational level. 

Key Selection Criteria:

1. Demonstrated experience and success developing and implementing partnership strategies and campaigns, with a committed results focus. 

2. Demonstrated experience in developing and managing annual private giving campaigns, patrons membership programs. 

3. Experience in creating and developing long term sustainable relationships with supporters and stakeholders at all levels and an ability to develop effective working relationships with senior management and Board members. 

4. Superior time management, documentation and process management skills, balancing attention to detail with a broader strategic vision.

5. Solid budget management experience and a successful track record of achieving income targets.

6. A diverse range of workplace collaboration skills including staff and volunteer supervision, effective peer level working and established skills in managing upwards.

7. Very high level computer literacy across the Microsoft Office suite. 

8. Excellent communications skills across all modes, exemplary writing and grammatical skills, and highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to gain credibility with donors, trusts and foundations.
