Ten years ago Darren Hanlon decided to finish off the year with an intimate low-key show, a single event held in a room with a ’70s disco dance floor in the now defunct Mandarin Club in Sydney. Since then the Christmas shows have grown, spreading to other cities.
2015 has been a busy year for Darren. After releasing his fifth album Where Did You Come From? and touring with his band throughout Australia in March and April, he jetted off for a two month tour of the US, which included opening a string of shows for Courtney Barnett and teaming up with Stephin Merritt.
From there he headed to the UK to play a main stage solo set at Green Man Festival in Wales, as well as a stop in Sweden for an intimate show in the Folklore Centrum.
