Darker Days festival returns to Bright with The Grogans leading a helluva lineup

Darker Days
Words by staff writer

Bright Brewery's winter festival Darker Days is back with craft beer, live music and alpine mayhem.

Darker Days 2026 will take over Bright Brewery for a full weekend of bold brews, 10 hours of live music and enough fire to keep the cold at bay. The Grogans headline a six-act bill that also features RAGEFLOWER, Five Buck Kid, Sophie Kelly, Lennon Paul and Matt O’Gorman.

Beyond the stage, a crew of guest breweries will be pouring alongside the Bright Brewery crew. Garage Project crosses the ditch from New Zealand, Bracket Brewing makes the trip from New South Wales, and Victorian locals Kaiju! and Blackmans Brewery round out the tap lineup. Regional spirits and wine from local makers will also be flowing for anyone after something different.

The festival is built for a full weekend away, with free welcome and recovery events bookending the main program. A kids zone, food trucks, exclusive festival merch and roaring fires fill out the rest of the site. Alpine Valley Getaways has signed on as official accommodation sponsor, offering everything from cosy cottages to luxury alpine escapes for anyone locking in a stay.

Getting home after dark is sorted too, with the After Dark Bus running return trips to Porepunkah, Ovens, Myrtleford, Wangaratta, Wandiligong, Freeburgh, Smoko and Harrietville. Pre-booking is required.

Darker Days has carved out a reputation as one of the alpine region’s best winter parties, and the 2026 edition looks set to keep that run going. Tickets are on sale now.
