Phonocut

The physical mixtape is back, baby.

If you’ve ever been curious about the vinyl-making process, you can experience the magic for yourself with this new DIY record-making device.

Phonocut was created by the same brains behind The Impossible Project, the group that saved Polaroid from collapse. To produce your very own record, you take a Phonocut blank record, connect the device to an audio source and hit the start button. The maximum playtime on the ten-inch record will be ten to 15 minutes per side, depending on the audio.

In terms of audio quality, it sounds pretty decent for such a small, simple device. Check out the Phonocut in action below:
